There have been gatherings called Rainbow Gatherings since at least 1972, and there has been at least one large gathering of the tribes every year in the United States on public land around the 4th of July since then. Many gather then to pray for peace and healing in the world.
This year is 2010 the Rainbow Gathering started to gather in 1972 that has been a long time for things so go south and get jumbled and disorganized.
The times have changed and when this gathering first started to for it came straight out of the Boomer Hippy movement and alot of ideas and practices have gotten confused and grown stale.
I think and as does many thinks its time for a reevaluation of the Rainbow the Gathering.
So much can change in that amount of time. The world changes, people change and the universe shifts.
its time to take a good hard look at this organization and rethink the goals,ideas,energies put into this so that is may reach more people in better efficient ways.
Gathering in the woods for a few weeks and having a giant celebration does nothing if we can not come together with intention,direction and with a goal higher than a out lived old hippy notion of peace and love.
There is so much more than this. Peace and love is just the beginning!
